Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of Zakat Core Principles (ZCP) at the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) in Jambi City, including the determination of core zakat principles that refer to efforts to implement good zakat management standards in accordance with sharia principles. Determining the area and distribution of zakat is based on the ratio and disbursement time. This study is a qualitative descriptive study using interviews and documents/archives related to the core principles of zakat. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of ZCP aims to ensure that zakat management at BAZNAS in Jambi City is effective, transparent, and accountable, thus providing optimal benefits to those entitled to receive zakat. Baznas has had a positive impact on mustahik in the distribution and utilization of ZIS in Jambi City. However, it cannot be said to be fully effective. The implementation of the Zakat Core Principles (ZCP) at the Jambi City BAZNAS began in 2024, in line with BAZNAS's efforts to implement better zakat management standards throughout Indonesia.
